Overview Supported Audio Scenarios Audio Behavior During Calls Validated Devices Important Considerations

Overview

ExpertConnect supports a wide range of audio devices during internet‑based voice calls on iOS, including wired headsets, Bluetooth accessories, and Apple CarPlay. The app follows Apple‑recommended audio handling practices to provide a consistent and predictable calling experience across supported devices.

Audio routing is designed to behave similarly to other iOS calling apps, allowing users to move between devices with minimal disruption during active calls.

Supported Audio Scenarios

During an ExpertConnect voice call on iOS, audio can be routed through:

  • The iPhone speaker or receiver
  • Wired headsets
  • Bluetooth headsets or accessories
  • Apple CarPlay

When an audio device is connected, disconnected, or changed while a call is in progress, ExpertConnect automatically adjusts the audio path to match the active device.

Audio Behavior During Calls

ExpertConnect manages audio routing dynamically throughout the call. Users can expect:

  • Audio to follow the currently connected device
  • Smooth transitions when switching between wired, Bluetooth, or CarPlay audio
  • Predictable behavior when accessories are connected or removed mid‑call

This ensures that calls continue without requiring the user to restart the app or the call when changing audio devices.

Validated Devices

ExpertConnect audio handling has been verified with a variety of commonly used accessories, including:

  • Apple wired headsets
  • Apple AirPods
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Parrot C300 MS (V1.24)
  • Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex
  • Several generic wired and Bluetooth accessories

Important Considerations

Audio performance may vary depending on factors outside of ExpertConnect’s control, such as:

  • Device hardware
  • Accessory manufacturer and firmware
  • iOS version
  • Bluetooth or vehicle system limitations

Because of this, some device‑specific or edge‑case audio behaviors may still occur.

If audio does not route as expected during a call:

  • Confirm the desired audio device is connected and selected at the iOS system level
  • Disconnect and reconnect the accessory
  • Verify the accessory is supported by Apple and functioning correctly outside of ExpertConnect

For ongoing issues, gather details about the device and accessory in use before contacting ExpertConnect Support.
